Free Hand Embroidery

Making textile beads (re-)leads me to hand embroidery and sewing. Free of time pressure and pressure to perfom, without any rules, simply dedicated. Great.

For these beads I used red fleece, black velvet, silk dupioni, silk thread, yarn and metallic glass beads. Like so many times before Mary Corbet’s Needle ’n Thread was of great help to me. This time I looked up the Satin Stitch. Thanks! Now I think about covering the beads with varnish spray, but I am not sure. On the one hand they become more resistant, on the other hand they lose their softness …
