Papier-mâché dread beads

Currently I’m making new dread beads. In addition to fabric, seed beads and rolled paper I also tried papier-mâché this time. Papier-mâché is an exciting material. It provides the opportunity to work sculptural and stays leightweight.

The paste for these dreadlock beads is based on white toilet paper rolls, wallpaper paste, white glue and a little bit of flour, which was then coffee dyed. I molded on a Vaseline greased chopstick, let the beads dry for about two days and painted and varnished them several times.
